4.4 Integration

Integration is performed when an integral expression is selected and simplification is applied.

• The special case of integrands that are themselves multiplicative expressions is handled using integration by parts.
• Integrands that meet the requirements of u-substitution must be preprocessed by applying a transformation called u-substitution.
